Mike graduated from Virginia Tech in 2015 from the Pamplin College of Business with a double major in accounting and finance. As a student, he wrote for Gobbler Country, SB Nation's Virginia Tech site, and later for Fighting Gobbler on FanSided, where he employed Hokie Hangover photographer Izzy Post as a writer (small world). He later published on Inside the ACC, an independent site covering the conference at-large.
More recently, Mike was an editor for Virginia Tech's Sports Illustrated Team Site All Hokies where he was joined by Hokie Hangover co-hosts Andrew Alix and Ricky LaBlue.
Mike currently writes for Sports Illustrated as a staff writer on the Breaking and Trending News Team, and contributes heavily to Sports Illustrated's college football coverage every fall Saturday. Mike also co-hosts Basketball Conference: The ACC Football Podcast, covering the ACC at-large.
